Kenya Safari With Kids – Our Story

East Africa (especially Kenya) is a wonderful part of the world to travel to with kids of all ages. From newborn babies to late teens, there are many memories to be made as a family, and Kenya is the perfect place to create them. Your kids will love it!

My husband and I have maintained traveling as a family, ensuring our kids experience the wild adventures East Africa has to offer. We have been traveling around Kenya and Tanzania on safari for 10 years, since Zia (our youngest) was just 3 days old. I spent my childhood (BC according to Billy 🙂 traveling, and we were lucky enough to enjoy many incredible camping safaris throughout East Africa and beyond (Europe, Asia, South America, the Americas, etc.). My father, an honorary game warden here in Kenya, has a never-ending fascination and knowledge of wildlife, animals, birds, trees, and people. My mother is the most selfless and efficient organizer of all things fun, always crafting the perfect adventure each time.

Why I Believe Kenya Is the Best Holiday for Families:

  1. Kenyans Love Children: You’ll always find someone to help—whether it’s carrying your baby while you eat, smiling through tantrums, playing football with energetic youths, or crafting bracelets with your artsy little ones.
  2. Adaptability: If you need baby food cooked, it will be done. If your child craves pizza or has specific dietary needs, you can count on local eateries to accommodate them.
  3. Fun Activities: Kids can be kids! From making mud pies to engaging in watersports, cycling, or riding camels and horses, there’s a wealth of activities to explore.
  4. Learning Opportunities: Kids will gain valuable life lessons, from understanding sustainability to appreciating their surroundings. They’ll discover the beauty of nature, from butterflies to flowers, and make friends along the way.
